Construction officially began yesterday on the new twin pad ice surface, two programming rooms, and dressing room expansion at the North Dumfries Community Complex. Work kicked off on April 15th, 2026, and the sight of heavy equipment moving dirt and starting excavation has everyone buzzing with excitement. After years of planning, it’s thrilling to finally see visible progress.
This project is about more than just adding a second ice pad. It also brings expanded programming rooms and flexible community spaces that will create exciting new opportunities for youth and senior programming, fitness classes and wellness activities, community meetings and workshops, local events, celebrations, and gatherings, plus inclusive programs serving residents of all ages. These multi-use spaces will let local organizations, families, and community groups connect year-round—not just on the ice, but throughout the entire complex. Together, we’re building a vibrant hub that supports recreation, connection, and growth for generations to come.
