Centre For The Community

Grant Program and Application Guidelines 2018

In 2009 the Centre for the Community Group (CCG) raised funds in support of the Community Complex.  The initial project was to raise $1.5 million for the development of the outdoor facilities.  Following the success of that campaign, the CCG announced to the community that it would raise additional funds to support a second ice pad at the North Dumfries Community Complex (NDCC).  With overwhelming community support for this endeavor, the CCG raised an additional $700,000.00.

The CCG has recently taken the remaining funds and placed them in a trust fund with the Cambridge and North Dumfries Community Foundation.  The purpose of the fund is to hold those community raised funds in trust until such time as North Dumfries Township moves ahead with a second ice pad at the NDCC.  In the meantime, the CCG plans to use a portion of the income generated from that Community Foundation fund to make donations to community groups upon the following criterion:

Grant Criteria:

  1. Grant requests are to be for activities that are carried out in North Dumfries and in particular at the NDCC.
  2. Priority will be provided to groups that are utilizing the NDCC.
  3. Priority will be given to organizations providing community programming for youth.

Typically, not funded:

  1. Routine/ongoing operating expenses such as salaries, rental or space or equipment.
  2. Expenses for events that have already taken place.

Documentation will be requested to ensure that all funds granted are used for their intended purpose.

Applications will be accepted before March 31 every year with fund to be granted in June.  Please go to the link below to put forth an application.

The CCG appreciates and will request photographs and follow up reports regarding the impact of the supported program to the organization.  Such photographs and reports to be used on the CCG website or other CCG social media.

The CCG reserves the right to consider the amount of financial support provided to a particular grant request.

The amount of available funds to be granted by the CCG is in the discretion of the CCG and subject to income earned on the CCG trust fund managed by the Cambridge and North Dumfries Community Foundation.

The CCG reserves the right to make exceptions to our guidelines.
